Directors of Youth Programming
Chaya and Adin Rayman, could not be more excited to be starting their second year as Directors of the Youth Department. After graduating from Stern College for Women with a double major in Speech Pathology/Audiology and Jewish Studies, Chaya is thrilled to start her year at SAR High School as a Beit Midrash Fellow. Adin is a Senior at Yeshiva College pursuing a degree in English Literature and has started Semicha, as well as serving as a Rabbinic Intern at the RJC. Chaya and Adin have spent many years as counselors, teachers, and leaders in numerous camps in the area. Both have extensive experience working for Bnei Akiva, which has instilled in them the importance of communal responsibility. This is something they hope to implement in their work as Youth Directors through engaging educational content. They cannot wait for another fantastic year, bringing the past year of knowledge of the Riverdale community to enhance programming for the coming year. Assistant Youth director
We are happy to announce that Abby Marcus will continue to serve as the RJC Youth Department's Assistant Youth Director! Abby is a graduate of the RJC Youth Department herself and has served as a youth leader for almost every age group. Abby has established wonderful relationships with the RJC community and she is excited to get started in her new role. Abby has graduated from Queens College where she majored in Finance and Economics. Abby loves sports, baking, fashion, and hanging out with her friends. Director of Pre-K Shabbat Programming
Tobey Lass- Karpel is a behavioral consultant in the New York Area. She graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University with a Masters in Early Childhood Intellectual Disability and Autism. She has worked with children and teenagers in formal and informal settings. Tobey is passionate about creating inclusive spaces and works to make sure that children of any ability are able to participate in her groups.Tobey is also a proud member of the Yachad staff where she started a chapter in Middlesex County New Jersey that provides Sunday programming for individuals of all ages who have special needs.
